Open Viewing Policy<\/strong><\/h1>\n

For the\u00a0health and safety of our gymnast, staff and parents we have\u00a0reviewed\u00a0and updated our open\u00a0viewing policy\u00a0in linewith the requirements\u00a0of British Gymnastics\u00a0file (british-gymnastics.org)<\/a>\u00a0details found on pages 6 and 7.<\/p>\n

Reasons for changes to our policy include:<\/p>\n

– The parent viewing area is an unsupervised area of the club where parents often bring their non-participating children<\/p>\n

–\u00a0The parent viewing area is regularly over capacity and often has around\u00a0fifty\u00a0people (including parents and children)<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Children in the parent viewing area are often left unsupervised or unchallenged and are at risk of injury (as has recently happened)<\/p>\n

Parents\/Guardians\/Spectators<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0All pre-school parents\/Guardian\u00a0will be\u00a0invited and encouraged to stay whilst the gymnast\u00a0attends\u00a0their classes.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Pre-school children that have moved up into GFA classes, parents\u00a0will be\u00a0invited and encouraged to stay for the first\u00a04 weeks of the\u00a0child\u2019s\u00a0session.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Children with certain\u00a0additional\u00a0needs\u00a0meaning the parent\/Guardian\u00a0would need to supervise the child or be on site will\u00a0be\u00a0invited and encouraged to stay. This will be down to the discretion of the club and parent.<\/p>\n

We must be informed of this\u00a0upon registration, or at the earliest opportunity, of any additional needs that may impact the\u00a0club\u2019s\u00a0decision to waive any restrictions on parent attendance.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Parents\/Guardians of new starters\u00a0will be\u00a0invited and encouraged to stay for the first\u00a0two weeks of their\u00a0child\u2019ssession.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0A system has been put in place where\u00a0all parents are invited to see their children\u00a0through open viewing. Full information and how to book will be sent out prior to sessions.<\/p>\n

Expected Behaviours<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Following recent concerns over health and safety\u00a0of our members, the following is expected of parents attending\u00a0open viewing.\u00a0(Please refer to our parent\u2019s code of conduct before your open viewing session. This can be found on our website or in the reception area).<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Use\u00a0correct\u00a0and\u00a0appropriate\u00a0language\u00a0at\u00a0all\u00a0times\u00a0and\u00a0avoid\u00a0any\u00a0behaviour\u00a0which\u00a0could\u00a0be\u00a0interpreted\u00a0as\u00a0intimidating,\u00a0this\u00a0includes\u00a0threatening,\u00a0bullying,\u00a0trying to\u00a0gain\u00a0an\u00a0unfair\u00a0advantage\u00a0and\u00a0public\u00a0disparagement\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0club\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0membes\/coaches.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0No photography or video recording equipment (including photo and video imaging mobile phones) may be used by parents, carers or visitors during training sessions.<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Do not attempt to communicate with your child or another child during training<\/p>\n

The club reserves the\u00a0right to address any\u00a0behaviours\u00a0deemed\u00a0inappropriate\u00a0and you may lose your\u00a0opportunity for open\u00a0viewing\u00a0if the rules and practice are not followed\u00a0accordingly.<\/p>\n

Additional information\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

British Gymnastics\u00a0safe environment policy also recognises the use of CCTV.<\/p>\n

As such to provide\u00a0additional opportunity, and increase safeguarding, 776 operates CCTV within the premises.<\/p>\n

A live viewing screen is now available within the reception area.
